"Helping Women in Recovery Become Whole."
Pilot House is pleased to announce some details about our upcoming plans!
There is a lack of MAT friendly housing in San Antonio. We at Pilot House believe that the ultimate destination of long term sobriety is more important that the route taken to get there. Our next home will be a women's MAT friendly house. Clients will be on a gradually decreasing dosage plan administered and supervised by clinicians with the goal of an end-date to the medication. Non-MAT clients will also be welcomed and it will be a sober environment.
Secondly, there is a need for traditional sober living along the Texas Gulf-Coast. Many small towns suffer from lack of support for those trying to become sober persons and we are in the planning stages for opening a women's home in Aransas Pass, Texas. This will be a "traditional" (i.e. non-MAT) home and MAT patients from our San Antonio home will have the opportunity to transfer to the coast house upon completion of their medication regime.
Finally, a gracious individual has donated a Yankee Dolphin 24 sailboat (pictured) to our organization! It is currently moored in Aransas Pass and we are assembling, to our knowledge, the world's first Women's Sober Sailing Team! This team will be open to women in the Pilot House programs as well as the larger sober community. We will compete in races up and down the Texas Gulf coast. Not only is sailboat racing a fantastic sport, it is a very mindful activity that forces participants to exist in the moment. As supporters of mindfulness practices this appeals to us at Pilot House. Additionally, the sense of community, accomplishment, and self-worth delivered to our team members will be beyond measure!
If you are interested in becoming part of any aspects of our upcoming plans please reach out to use! We are excited to begin this new voyage!

Pilot House Inc.
Pilot House, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, provides sober living and recovery coaching services for men and women in San Antonio, Texas.
We believe that a communal sober living environment is a critical for long-term sobriety for those recovering from alcohol or drug use disorder. We offer month to month accommodations for women who are leaving a live-in facility but still need guidance and accountability. The first 90 days of sobriety are critical and by living with others in recovery the outcomes for long-term sobriety are greatly increased. We ask that our residents commit to a 6 month stay to have enough time to begin getting their lives back in order. We also offer independent recovery coaching services for those who are seeking assistance in overcoming their addictions. |
1 Mission
A comfortable living environment with job placement assistance, life skills courses, and monthly counseling sessions included. |
Our Services
Pilot House residents enjoy a comfortable, stable, structured living environment. For persons newly in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction one of the most beneficial healing mechanisms is being in the company of others who are in recovery. This is the basic philosophy of sober living. In addition to living with other people in recovery, Pilot House residents are provided with job placement assistance, help with financial aide programs for higher education, psychiatric and psychological counseling appointments (if necessary) and assistance acquiring health insurance. Residents are also offered life enrichment activities such as house trips, cooking classes, personal finance classes, and recreational opportunities. The more full and positive we can make our resident's lives, the less likely they will be to resume use of addictive substances when the decide it is time to leave Pilot House.
